THE HISTORY
Giovannis was set up in the late 1980’s by a local English couple. We don’t actually know how or why they decided to plonk an Italian restaurant on this busy road in Crewe – but it worked, and soon became the place to go for family outings and first dates.
Even now, many people speak fondly of the memories they have of Giovannis – and always mention the famous garlic mushrooms!
Now, in 2024, the second owners, James and Carrie are almost 20 years in. We are another local couple with a shared passion for Italy.
The couples’ two children enjoy occasional shifts working in the restaurant and already have a good grasp of how challenging running a restaurant is.
The next generation of Gios’ management are in training… (watch out for when Phoebe’s in charge!)
