Welcome to Gios
A Message from Carrie
Welcome!
CIAO!
I’m not Italian, neither is James but we LOVE Italy and pretty much everything that goes with it: the weather, architecture, the people; the language… not to mention the cuisine and arguably the best wine in the world – the country is incredible and quite frankly we are in love with the place.
We want our passion for Italy to shine through our menu. We take inspiration from the typical dishes we see on the menus from the different regions, which isn’t an excuse to make occasional trips to the country of course – well ok it is, but every job has an occupational hazard doesn’t it?
Gio’s is all about pizza and pasta, simple food done well.

Italian cuisine is about making something exceptional using just a few basic ingredients. We don’t compromise on the quality of our products; we use the best tomatoes we can find and a high quality fior di latte mozzarella for our pizzas and we always use a very good quality pasta – it does make a difference. Our homemade pizza dough has evolved massively over the years, an example of how we are always trying to better ourselves.
I am very passionate about creating excellent vegetarian and vegan dishes to sit among our menu and which is why we have built up a bit of a following among the meat free community. It is extremely important to me that people who don’t eat animals receive just as good a meal as everyone else. I know too well how difficult it can be eating out as a vegan – Gio’s is here to make life a little easier for the veggie community. We try to create a vegan version of most of our meat dishes, so you’ll find a vegan lasagne and a vegan ragu alongside so many other vegan and vegetarian dishes on our menu – no one is an afterthought here.
Gio’s has stood the test of time.
It’s outlived a few recessions; an influx of chain restaurants which opened and closed within a few years not to mention the global craziness of the last few years.
We are really proud of Gio’s and how it’s held its own against all odds, but we haven’t got here through luck; we have had to and continue to work extremely hard to stay doing what we do. Never becoming complacent is a key to our success, the industry is fragile and we understand how much we need to look after our business in order to keep going.
We are truly appreciative of all of our lovely guests who help us keep this restaurant alive.
If you’re in the area on business or simply passing through – we are a two minute walk from the train station; we welcome everyone from solo diners to larger families. And if you live in or around Crewe and fondly remember Gio’s as the place you used to go “back in the day”, come and visit us again – I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
We look forward to welcoming you into Gio’s soon.
